New York City Police Officer gets slap on the wrist

A Measley thousand dollars bail.
There should be no bail at all in this case.
Not a million, Not a billion,
Maybe it's just from where I stand- in piles of pictures and articles of police departments who have looked away from their own, over the years, only to protect their reputations. Usually resulting in tragedy.

And in my own Police Officer Family when I heard my father echo the same words, no one listened to my mother because my father was such a fine upstanding Chicago Police Detective. That is until on day in January, my mothers voice who would forever silenced as this man, my father, sworn to serve and protect murdered my mother and then turned the gun on himself. As it happens in so many officers homes across America. The following is only 1 of 2 articles in todays new york papers. I have ask you before to please consider sending what I call"email outrage" letters to the media. I'm asking you again to please help. You can cut and paste parts of this email or the entire email and send it to the media folks listed after the NY times story. In memory of the thousands of lives already lost, please consider sending an email.

Doyle has been released on $1,000 bail???
Are they not playing with a full deck there in Manhattan?
He Should not only be in jail- BUT SHOULD BE ON ROUND-THE CLOCK SUICIDE WATCH.

Ny York Times-November 23, 2005
..."I could kill you right now and open up your head,"
His 13-year-old daughter, Jenna, was at the party and witnessed the alleged threats, a police report shows that Lieutenant Doyle became upset when his wife returned home late and with the wrong kind of cake.
This cop who once headed a domestic violence unit held an ax to his wife's head and twice threatened to shoot her - all because he didn't like the birthday cake she bought him.

Lieutenant Doyle pressed his service revolver to the back of his wife's head, telling her that he would kill her, according to court papers.
"Don't f--- with me," he allegedly said, pointing the weapon at her ribs. "I'll end this now."

"He's a mellow guy," said one cop. "It seems totally out of character for him."...

He threw a glass of wine at the cake, complaining that it was not made of ice cream, the officials said.
Lieutenant Doyle then threatened his wife with a masonry hammer, telling her, "I could kill you right now and open up your head," according to court papers.
Later, the couple argued again, and around 9:30 p.m. Lieutenant Doyle pressed his service revolver to the back of his wife's head, telling her that he would kill her, according to court papers.
Ten minutes later, as he left for work, he again threatened his wife, the papers say. He had previously supervised the domestic violence unit in the 120th Precinct on Staten Island, officials said. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/11/23/nyregion/23domestic.html
