Lets give Candy Canes To Officers who Commit Crimes This Seasson, Shall We?
Are Police Departments Rewarding Abusive Cops?
Florida] Deputy Daniel Spiese ACQUITTED. Wife: "I'm scared to death of him"
Where is the Outrage from the ACLU, the Media? Our are we still on that Christmas issue and whether or not we should call christmas, "christmas" or" Winter Holiday"?
Or hey folks, lets talk about the department stores who aren't telling customers Merry Christmas. There are a lot of Officers in the state of Flordia who have been caught in serious domestic violence cases of late and they are the ones committing the crime, why aren't we addressing that in this country? Or in other states where police department officials are handing out slaps on the hand to abusive officers like christmas candy canes. I've posted only a few of these violent acts by officers in the last few months because there are too many to post.
When are POlice Officers who are sworn to uphold the law going to finally be held accoutable by the very system they are sworn to serve and protect? This case is one tiny example of the thousands that are ongoing and no one is paying attention.

It was in the paper today that Hernando County Deputy Daniel Spiese has been acquitted of trying to explode his wife and son by an all male jury. His wife, who also works for the Sheriff's Department had asked Spiese to leave. He called deputies (from his own department) who told her he can't be made to leave because they're married. WHY she wanted him out is never revealed in the news.
She says that night he wouldn't let her sleep, kept turning the lights on and off. She turned the breaker off & about 4 a.m. he put lotion all over the breaker. She wiped the lotion off to flip the switch. About 6 a.m. she saw Deputy Spiese leave, woke up her son to leave, went to the garage and smelled the overwhelming smell of propane. She said the burner to the gas grill was turned on and the grill's valve was open. Detectives say it was pushed up against the wall. They found that one window had been "tampered" with and the only prints on the window were those of Daniel Spiese.
From an article: ...Lt. Rex Hinkle of the State Fire Marshall's Office said propane gas is highly flammable and the victims inside the home June 17 were "lucky they were not injured or killed." Items in the home like a car, garage door opener and a freezer could have triggered the open propane gas tank to explode.
..From another article: ......Connie Spiece spoke to Circuit Judge Stephen Spivey in a tearful near-whisper. "I'm scared to death of him," she said. Of that, (Judge Stephen) Spivey said, "there's no question in my mind. None at all."...
Daniel Spiece remains on the police force. The articles say his wife's protection order was extended last June for a year and today's article says the in-house investigation will be re-opened now that the criminal piece is over. He's out on the streets, what has he got to loose? Will the officer get his revenge?
We don't ever see these types of cases end quietly.

How can a jury of your peers be an all male jury when it's domestic violence/attempted murder?
That's right all the jurors were men, who were all most likely related to police officers.
The record forDaniel Spiese: is a follows-
...the file shows, Spiese fired shots into the air apparently because someone was driving recklessly near his home. He was put on probation for three months.
In 1986, he was demoted from corporal to deputy because of a lack of leadership qualities.
In February 1989, he left the rear door of his patrol car unlocked at his home, and his firearm, a shotgun and his gun belt were stolen. He was suspended for a day without pay.
In April 1992, he had two "at-fault" accidents in a department car within 10 days. A third accident two years later led to another suspension of a day without pay and a special driving course.
In June 1998, he asked a 12-year-old girl to knock on the door of a suspect in an RV park. The punishment was two days of unpaid suspension.
Some parts of his annual reviews were, at best, lukewarm.
In 1987: "Deputy Spiese at times has difficulty relating to fellow employees and supervisors on a professional level."
In 1990: "Has a continuing problem with submitting reports which are complete - also does not meet standards in the areas of planning and organizing work."
In 1995: "Deputy Spiese has made comments to fellow deputies that are not appropriate."
In 1999: "Deputy Spiese should make efforts to increase his "work initiative' and "volume of work produced."'
