Pregnant Young Mother's Body-Shot and dismembered

@ 11:12 PM (46 months, 5 days ago)

Wisonsin - Clark County officials have revealed gruesome details in the case of a pregnant Thorp woman reported missing by her husband and later found dead.

Sheriff investigators say 21-year-old Christine Rudy was shot and dismembered and her body parts dropped off a bridge into the Chippewa River.

Rudy was reported missing November 12th by husband Shaun Rudy, who said he dropped her off on a highway after an argument. Christine was six months pregnant.

A deputy says part of the woman's remains were found in a wooded area where Shawn Rudy said he last saw her.

Clark County Sheriff Louis Rosandich says no remains have been found in the river but investigators continue to search, based on information they received.

They will be charging Shaun Rudy, her husband in the killing.

There have been a lot of such cases in the past 18 months, with Lacy Peterson receiving the most attention.

A person who does tis doesn't just get out of bed one day and kill their wife and their inborn child. It is a planned event. And often there is a history of domestic violence but the woman doesn't report it to authorities or other family memebers because they often feel the person will change, especially with a new baby in the picture.

For these woman life is often not as rosy as they would make it appear. And that's why when these types of crimes happen, the husband or boyfriend is not a serious suspect in the begining of the crime investigation.

If you are in a situation or know someone who could be, it is important not to take lightly, incidents of verbal abuse, emotional or contolling behavior. You need to talk with someone and let them know what's going on. It may feel scary when a person is this someone who has a violent temper, but it is far more tragic when we don't recognize the little signs that turn into bigger events.

If your in a domestic violence relationship and you don't know where to turn, consider calling for assistance either by looking in your yellow pages under social service agencies for women, look on the internet or contact the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence at 1-800-799-SAFE and they will direct you to a service provider/counselor in your area.
