In Chicago, Cook County prosecutors have been ordered to drop all cases handled by nine special operations Chicago police officers, four of whom have been charged with robbing, kidnapping and intimidating drug dealers, according to a memo sent to state's attorney's offices. This makes no sence, especially with the type of crimes each officer committed.

Well Mrs. Clinton is sure using her voice in defense of her husband Former Bill Clinton in attacking the Secretary of State. For the life of me I can't recall her voice at all during her years as the first lady when her husband "I did not have sex with that woman" was Commander and Chief. While in office the President and the first lady didn't provide much in the way of explainations except to provide a lot of lip service. Their silence spoke volumes, and their actions were a disgrace. So now the lovely Senator is trying to serve up a little "Rice" on the American plate and hand it to us in defense of her husband. That's just poor politics.

7-Eleven said in a statement it was switching to its own branded gasoline at more than 2,100 company-owned and franchised U.S. stores. Citgo has been 7-Eleven's gasoline supplier for 20 years.
A Citgo spokesman was not immediately available to comment on the 7-Eleven decision.
According to Rueters News--Dallas-based 7-Eleven expressed sympathy for anger at Chavez due to comments made in a United Nations General Assembly speech last week.
"Regardless of politics, we sympathize with many Americans' concerns over derogatory comments about our country and its leadership recently made by Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez," 7-Eleven said in a statement.
But 7-Eleven warned against boycotts of Citgo because of its employment of 4,000 people in the United States and its role as a supplier of motor fuels to 14,000 gasoline stations.
"Americans with no substantive connection to Venezuela would be economically harmed by boycotts," 7-Eleven said.
Because of the on-going war of words between Chavez and the Bush administration, Citgo has been the subject of at least one boycott.
The conservative U.S. religious group American Family Association launched a boycott of Citgo in February.

Is the world is a better place since former Governor James McGreevey released his new book:
He is on a world wind book tour that began earlier in the week on Oprah and then the View, among others "A" list shows promoting his new book. If he had not been threatened with a law suit, blackmail and a possible indictment the man would still be at the helm taking care of buisiness in the state of New Jersey. I was unable to finish the book. I did not care for the writing and felt it was just very stale. And apparently book sales after appearing on Oprah are disappointing. Has the world had enough of someone getting caught and writing a tell all book? It appears that's the case with this release.

Show ratings may be up since Rosie entered the table of tongue's, but that won't last long. Unless of course they consider Whitney Houston? She's looking for a gig and Rosie could sing all her songs as we watch her make comments about Oprah and others who aren't on the same stage to defend her on air punches. Then there's always Cynthia McKinney, about to be unemployed, a very logical choice to replace the seat vacated by Star Jones. She'd add lot's of fire to the show including keeping Rosie in check.

Watching nightly reports, programs such as Glenn Beck, O'Reilly Factor, Paula Zahn, reading daily newspapers and magazines and realizing something is missing, from the headlines. Replaced and sugar coated with what kind of Art Angelina and Brad Pitt bought, or If Tom Cruise had a healthy baby, maybe it's the very last photo's of her son for sale by Ann Nicole Smith just before he died. My point is do we really care, we must, we pay attention and get sidetracked, instead of paying more attention that we are at war. Islamofascists have declared war on the United States and stated that they intend to kill all Americans. And they've shown us that they mean business.
Where are all of the Muslims in America? Who live among us, in our country? Where are their voices? They are not immune. Doesn't this effect them? Why isn't the media going into their community and holding town hall discussions and interviewing the Muslim Communities in every state?
Haven't we just passed the anniversary of the worst attack on America in history, 9/11, when Muslim terrorists killed nearly 3,000 innocent men, women and children as they turned passenger planes into missiles. Yet the news is filled with stories of Muslims -- not loudly condemning the Muslim murderers -- but complaining of their treatment here and demanding Americans change their attitudes.
Ecuse me, but, Americans should change our attitudes? Terrorist cells have been discovered here. Plots to blow up bridges and the Sears Tower have been uncovered. Bomb-making supplies carried by Muslim terrorists have been stopped at our borders. A plot to bomb 10 airliners bound for the United States was foiled. And like some troubled youth we are told to change our attitudes?
America has opened its doors and universities to Muslims from foreign countries -- perhaps the best way for these students to see our freedoms and develop a new respect for our country. But where, I ask, is the returned show of support?
Pope Benedict is calling on moderate Muslims to speak out against the violent strain of Islam, calling jihad a movement against the nature of God. But where are the moderate Muslim voices here? Why aren't they speaking up to repudiate the kidnappings, suicide murders and beheadings done by Islamofascists?
For an answer, I went to the Web site of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR. But the CAIR site highlights a workshop on how to "Know Your Rights"; a section on "Political Empowerment"; a demand to put a Muslim holiday on all school calendars.
This past spring, Muslim students at Michigan State University held a protest -- not to decry Islamic terrorists -- but to speak out loudly against Danish cartoons depicting Mohammed as a terrorist. What's worse is this: When a tenured professor, I.S. Wichman, sent an e-mail to a student, the school's Muslim Student Association made the letter public and demanded that the professor be officially reprimanded.
What had Wichman written? He wrote that, more than being offended by the cartoons, he was offended "by beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murderers, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women, the murder of a film director in Holland, and the rioting and looting in France."
He went on to write, "If you do not like the values of the West -- see the First Amendment -- you are free to leave."
It seems that the students believe they have the right to protest cartoons, but professors don't have the right to speak out against murderous atrocities. Something's wrong.
To Michigan State's credit, the professor will not be reprimanded as he was exercising his right to free speech.
We are at war. Our soldiers are following the rules of war -- but their opposition is not.
CIA counterterrorism officers are buying private insurance to cover legal costs in case they are charged with a crime, as is being hinted at by some members of Congress who feel their interrogation techniques might be too "tough."
In Iraq, Americans have been kidnapped, tortured, beheaded, burned, hanged from bridges, dragged through streets. But the CIA's method of questioning a terrorist in a cold room while playing loud music is too "tough"?
We're fighting a war for civilization against an enemy bent on destroying it and creating an Islamic world based on a warped view of what true Islam is -- yet where are the voices of American Muslims condemning this enemy?
Seeking a Midwest version of the famed Boston Tea Party, Illinois' second-highest politician wants residents to mail tea bags to that state's two biggest electric utilities in protest of coming rate hikes. A lot of good that would do, as Commonwealth Edison, like most utilities , could care less about consumers and rising rates. The U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday offered a caveat: Skip the tea.
