"Apocalypto" and America's Ignorant Parents

Mel Gibson's bloody epic "Apocalypto" debuted as the No. 1 weekend movie. Frankly, I was taken back in the theater over the weekend as I watched parents bring their children, wee ones, two, three, four on up. Most, screaming and crying because parents were too ignorant to leave their kids home for this very bloody and violent form of entertainment. Makes me wonder if the legal guardian's of our nation's treasures, really give a hoot about what type of "entertainment" they allow their children to view.
There were several preschool aged children with their parents, crying screaming and watching men yank hearts out of other humans at eleven at night.
Last time I checked, Band-Aid didn't cover such a large patch of bloody skin. And wasn't the movie released by Disney? Maybe the parents of these young children misunderstood. Or plain and simple they couldn't afford a babysister. How sad for all of us!
