As a family mourns the tragic death of their child and attempts to grieve in peace. The graphic pictures of their daughters death has become popular among blogs and chatroom sites across the country. None of us as parents can imagine turning on the computer and seeing our child splatered all over web pages. But that IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED to one family in California. I hope that these idiots remove the photo's and posts and allow the family to heal and move forward with their lives.

It is sad in this country that parents must now fingerprint their own children for safety against"unknown" individuals who thrive on abducting and harming our children. Please check with your local police departments, attorney generals office, schools, churchs and community resources to have your childs' personal file on record. It is free of charge to parents and it should be something you do every couple of years.
Parents shaken by recent news of local kidnappings took precautions Saturday to safeguard their children.

Democratic California Assemblywoman Sally Lieber has announced that she will introduce a bill this week to make it a crime to spank children who are 3 years old or younger, punishable by up to a year in jail or a $1,000 fine. If this zany idea were to become law, California could be the place where the nanny state meets the authoritarian state.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- A St. Charles County man is accused of shooting his own 12-day-old son with a BB gun. I truly have no understanding nor patience for garbage like this on our planet. There is no sentence a judge could give that could come close to an adult, a parent, harming their own child, or any child . Several times, causing circular-shaped bruises to the face, left arm, hand, foot, hip and buttocks. The injuries are not life-threatening.
Mohan, 20, claims the shooting was an accident.

| Gee, this is a headline I like to drink my morning cofee over: "MA Officer Arrested; Shot At Wife During Drunken Domestic"...And they are actually going to determine if the officer poses a danger should he be released on bail. Where are the brains in the judge's thinking? Case after case we continue to see "special circumstances" for those officers who commit felonies. When these cases happen and the victims are still alive, case by case the State's Attorney should work towards a safety plan that actually includes remaing safe. As should the judge's who allow these "person's" to walk back out on our streets. We would not return a child to an unsafe environent, why not then give spouse's the same considerations at these types of hearings. |

I haven't seen such excitment in Chicago since 1985 when the Bears won the super bowl. Now, Chicago once again has Bears Fever! I could tell you who all the team members were back then, I even socialized with a few of them and of course I was 20 years younger. It is a different time today. The players are now making crazy amounts of money and involving themselves in behavior one would one read about from street criminals. Don't get me wrong I am happy for the team and all the sports fans who are siting at the corner taven still celebrating from this afternoon. I just hope these players and all who are involved in sports realize they are role models for our youth and it is time for them to start behaving as such.

What does it say about us as a civilized society when we settle our disputes with violence? The reality of murder suicides in this country is growing at an alarming rate. This case goes beyond what neighbors picture as a "quiet" and "normal" couple who recently divorced. It is about power and control. The neighbors said nothing was wrong, obviously a whole hell of a lot was wrong for this man to murder his wife. I realize we can not go house by house or block by block to address or even begin to solve these crimes. But, we can go back to a time when we really begin to know our community, the neighbors and their children. Perhaps if someone had offered a helping hand, a word of kindness or just made this sad individual feel his life had meaning, it may have saved a life or two.

Lights, Camera, Action! I am all for the media covering court cases and doing their jobs. But couldn't the show producers of 48 hours think of something better then the Robert Vanaman case. I mean, please, a loving mother, gunned down, in her own home, helpless to defend herself against her police officer husband. She wanted out of the marriage, Robert Vanaman lets her out by murdering her. Then he self inflicts wounds to make it look like an act of self-defense. In addition, a judge allows this former officer of the law to make bail and be with his children. Oh, I forgot the Judge also orders counseling for he and the kids. The Judge is the one who should consider counseling. Barbara's family attempted to get custody of the children, but, they were denied. During this very painful and confusing time the last place the two boys should be is with this man. Their father who took an oath to serve and protect and didn't think the law applied to him. Self defense? Insanity perhaps? No different from the thousands of other police officers in this country who have murdered their wives and in many cases committed suicide. Where is child protective service in this case? Obviously, they too, are invisible or deaf. This case screams loud and clear, along with so many others who have lost their lives like Crystal Brame or Carli Dennis, Anna Burns, Sandy Etter, Serena Gomez, Kimberly Mount, Anna Rodriguez, that we must implement more then a judge banging their gavel without really understanding Officers who murder their partners. Support programs and the enforcement of laws and mental health services must go hand in hand for officers and their families.

Chicago has reached below zero temperatures. Not with the weather, but rather by one Alderwoman, by the name of Arenda Troutman who has managed to use her words like a street gang fight by calling her fellow city council members and politicians "common hookers" and with good reason, I might add. You see, sometimes things are not as they appear or in the Alderwoman's case, what they have been set up to look like. Yes, I said set-up. She would not play ball so the powers that be are punishing her for standing firm and helping her beloved Englewood community. Those who stood by her side and smiled, pretending to care about the residents and then making deals behind closed doors.

The four officers who failed to perform their duties in November, finally arrested, after an investigation had more to do with public pressure than anything else. The attoney generals office, family and womens groups were the real success in the ultimate officers'
firing. And the department had a deep inbeded fried egg on their faces. They had no choice. Come to think of it, neither did the victim, whose cries for help fell on deaf ears. May God keep the children, safe and healthy as they wake each day, trying to understand why they mother, was murdered.
Ohio- Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth has fired four deputies, saying they delayed the arrest of a former auxiliary deputy who one week later fatally shot his wife and himself.
Although the arrest delay did not appear to contribute to the murder-suicide, an internal investigation showed the four failed to perform their duties, Stanforth said. Three of the four also face criminal charges.
Deputy Patricia Bailey, the sister of the suspect, was dismissed on Thursday, followed on Friday by Deputies Ernest Jackson Jr., Terry Olsen Jr. and John Hyer.
"Each chose their course of action that night which either allowed or encouraged the events that took place and must now face the consequences of those actions," Stanforth said in a statement.
Bailey, Jackson and Olsen have pleaded not guilty to charges of dereliction of duty, a misdemeanor. They are accused of failing to stop Bailey's brother, John Bailey, from vandalizing his home and arrest him Oct. 25. The trial is set for February in Fayette County Common Pleas Court.
Jackson and Olsen had gone to Bailey's home to serve a civil protection order sought by his wife, Lori. The order required him to leave the home and for deputies to seize any guns.
Hyer, formerly a corporal and shift supervisor, called the off-duty Patricia Bailey to alert her, Stanforth said. She went to the home and stopped Jackson and Olsen from removing all the guns, Stanforth said. Three of the four officers, fired:
The three were in the house when John Bailey then smashed windows, ripped out wires and painted walls, authorities said.
Bailey was charged the next day with violating the protective order and damaging the home. Hyer resigned from his rank as corporal to become a deputy.
Bailey kidnapped his wife from the home of their children's baby sitter Nov. 1, fatally shot her in a rural barn and then killed himself, authorities said.
The sheriff's office now has about a dozen deputies for road patrols.

There are thousands of bad truck drivers across America driving on our highways who got their licenses under suspicious circumstances. In the last five years, the federal government has discovered licensing fraud in 24 states. The payment-for-license schemes usually center on so-called third-party examiners who are hired by states to perform driver testing. These jackasses are on our roads and could care less who they kill making their almighty dollar. You would think truck drivers, the good ones that is and the unions would do something about this dangerous trend.
