What is The Senate Doing To Us ? Please Sign The Petition

I'm sorry, but I can't see how the Senate can justify this slap in the face to born and bred,
or naturalized citizens. It is already impossible to live on Social Security alone. If they give
benefits to "illegal" aliens who have never contributed, where does that leave us that have paid into Social Security all our working lives?

ACLU Former President Arrested for Child Pornography.

@ 02:17 AM (16 months, 13 days ago)

Here is a video clip on the arrest of the ACLU member for possessing "Hard" child pornography.  I am sure the ACLU is praying that this remains under the radar.  Wonder what type of defense they will bring when the case goes to trial.  Did the man grow up in a violent home?  Was he too, abused as a youngster?  There is no excuse on the books to keep this scumbag out of jail.

Mayor Daley's Goal: The People of Chicago

Tags:
@ 03:49 AM (16 months, 14 days ago)

In Chicago, On Tuesday, February 27, 2007, the mayoral primary takes place.  Mayor Daley, if elected will suprpass his own fathers terms in office, which totaled five.  This will be the Mayor's sixth election.  And with no real competition on the race track he will succeed.  And, it will probably be his last term in office.  Despite scandals over this and that, Mayor Daley has really accomplished a hell of a lot.  He has changed the entire face of Chicago with new businesses, jobs, a thriving theatre district, a place Hollywood stops in to shoot a movie or two.  Streets, areas once unsafe, are now safe enough for your grandma to walk down, alone. And housing for those who would otherwise be living on city streets and eating their meals from trash bins.  In my opinion, he is only continuing his fathers dream for all who call Chicago, home.

Police Article is More Lip Service

Tags:
@ 04:45 AM (16 months, 15 days ago)

An Article appeared today on abusive police officers, focusing in New York. Don't get me wrong, I am happy when any article highlights abuse within the homes of law enforcement. But, more has to be done that mere lip service.  It is not a criticism but, an observation. You can work and be an expert in the field, and I applaud all those who have been diligent in the area of police officers as it pertains to abuse. The real problem lies within the departments themselves.  Sugar Coating a deadly issue like police violence should be left for application on M&M Candies, it must not be applied to the lives of spouses and their children.   The day when wives of Law Enforcement can  receive concrete assistance, without fear, or loosing their lives, will be the day when departments are truly held accountable for those who cries for help still fall on deaf ears.

Farrakhan's Final Farewell

@ 07:29 AM (16 months, 18 days ago)
We haven't heard much the past year or so from Minister Farrakhan due to poor health. His climb into the National spotlight has been rocky, at best. In my opinion, his words always  harsh, leaving you feel as though your hand just brushed over a thorny rose bush.   His decisions an one sided politcal agenda and alliances with dangerous world criminals have always left me questioning his motives.  Did he advance anyone, other than lining his own pocket?   After a life-threatening surgery and nearly seven months in seclusion, Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan is expected to give his final address this weekend in Detroit, a speech that observers say will urge stronger unity among Muslims and signal the next era of leadership for the religious movement.

John McCain Campaigning For The Rights of the Unborn

@ 03:00 AM (16 months, 21 days ago)

It doesn't matter that John McCain has placed his hat into the Presidential arena. In my book the man is already a winner.  Campaigning for the life of the unborn and giving them a voice. The fact that, a father and survivor of a Vietnam prison camp has taken a firm position on overturning Rove Vs. Wade, shows us all, the courage of his convictions. Abortion plain and simple for our country must, go.

Internet Addict Sues IBM "Unique" Stress Syndrome

@ 05:16 AM (16 months, 22 days ago)

Here's a unique twist on wrongful termination of an employee.  Either that, or the guy had some wacky, but great advice.- A man who was fired by IBM for visiting an adult chat room at work is suing the company for $5 million, claiming he is an Internet addict who deserves treatment and sympathy rather than dismissal.

James Pacenza, 58, of Montgomery, says he visits chat rooms to treat traumatic stress incurred in 1969 when he saw his best friend killed during an Army patrol in Vietnam.

Rest In Peace Anna Nicole

@ 03:23 AM (16 months, 24 days ago)

With so much money and licensing rights on the heels of Ann Nicole's estate.  I haven't heard much concern for the baby, except, who is the father of this precious gift of life. And an estranged maternal grandmother being attacked because she hadn't had contact with Anna in a number of years.  It's very sad that her death has caused a real life three ring circus.  We all have the power to turn off the television regarding the details of her death and not allow the media and our own curiosity to drive up ratings.  If we as the general public, switch the channel, the media will go elsewhere.  If  we fuel the already growing fire, it will be a repeat of the O.J. Simpson case. May she finally, rest in peace.

Husband Goes To Great Lengths To Avoid Facing Wife

@ 03:44 AM (16 months, 25 days ago)
I am sure many of you saw this brief headline of the man who went through great hoops to avoid facing his wife by saying he was kidnapped.  Now, he could face criminal charges.  So this begs the question, from me anyway. Nothing in life can be all that bad, can it.  If a man is afraid of their own wife, to simply fess up, something is very wrong. Obviously there is no picture of the couple, perhaps that would shed some light on this very odd, but true, unfortunate situation.  Well, hopefully he at least remembered her on Valentine's day.

February 15, 2007
SAN RAFAEL, California -- A man who allegedly faked his own kidnapping to keep his wife from finding out he crashed her new car could face criminal charges, police said.

Police said the 35-year-old man told them two kidnappers held him up Saturday and ordered him to drive to Santa Rosa, where he crashed the car into a wall to escape.

The man was actually heading to a casino when he crashed his wife's 2007 Ford Focus.

A Day in the Life of Police Families

Ozzie and Harriett this is not.  Being a police officer is very difficult work.  Today the newspaper in Indiana featured officers and their ;ive's with their families.  I thought the article was rather soft, almost too, watered down, but, it shows them in a different environment, if only for a moment.

In two years on the Fort Wayne Police Department, officer Stephanie Souther went from believing there is a lot of

A Plea to The Fraternal Order of Police

It's okay, I am a police officer and I have the self appointed right, because I have been issued a gun and a big tin badge, providing me the ultimate power, to murder my wife.  You see gentlemen, my fellow comrade's in blue, she wants to end our marriage. And I have the power to end her life.  This is the third such suicide in this police department within a 12 month period.  Obviously, it is not enough to have an employee assistance division within police departments, because it is not effective. This "cookie cutter" mentality among law enforcement departments across the country must structure a program that deals with officers and their families as a unit.  Police unions must get their heads out from under the caves they inhabit and begin providing real solutions to this deadly problem within their own "blue walls".  There are many ways to be effective and assist officers and families. Experts who can assist in providing real change and save lives.  A good place to start is within the Fraternal Order of Police, they have the power to be agents of change.

General Motors Receiving Heat Over Super Bowl Ad

@ 04:29 AM (17 months, 2 days ago)

The American Foundation for Suicide, has cried "foul ball" to the real "dummies" at General Motors who conceived the Super Bowl commercial.   In response to the commercial for General Motors Corp., in which a GM factory robot "obsessed about quality" imagines itself jumping off a bridge after being fired for making a mistake, has contacted the automaker, CBS and the NFL regarding the insensitive nature of this ad.

The ad, prominently displayed on the GM website, is offensive to the tens of millions of survivors of suicide loss nationwide. In its carelessness, it portrays suicide as a viable option when someone fails or loses their job. This is the wrong message to send to adolescents in general, or to young people and adults alike who may be depressed and thinking that suicide is their only option, rather than seeking help.

AFSP has requested that GM pull this ad and cease any further promotion and marketing of it, including taking it off the company's website. The Foundation has also encouraged GM to issue a statement of apology to those offended by the ad.

Suicide is a major public health problem that has claimed the lives of over 300,000 people in the United States over the past 10 years -- with approximately one million suicide attempts each year -- taking an enormous toll on families, friends, classmates, co-workers and communities. More than 90 percent of people who die by suicide have a diagnosable, treatable mental disorder and are suffering. Suicide is currently the fourth leading cause of death among adults aged 18-65 and the third leading cause of death among youth aged 15-24.

Research has also shown that graphic, sensationalized or romanticized descriptions of suicide deaths in any medium can contribute to suicide contagion, popularly referred to as "copycat" suicides.

AFSP urges those offended by this ad to contact GM to express their concern. You can do so by going to the Contact Us page on the GM website. In the "Contact GM Corporation" section, choose "GM Advertisements" as a topic from the drop-down menu and click "Go," which will take you to a form where you can add your comments.

Pure Evil

@ 03:21 AM (17 months, 4 days ago)
In New York this very evening the family of a one-month-old baby who was brutally beaten is preparing to say goodbye. Baby Christiona is in critical condition after police said her father punched her repeatedly. Her father is charged with first degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Christopher Shelly, of Gertrude Street, was watching his daughter Christiona Tuesday night while the baby's mother, Stephanie Wood, 18, was visiting a neighbor. Shelly told police the baby wouldn't stop crying, so he punched her. The couple didn't bring the baby to the hospital until Thursday night, two nights later.
