Florida Officer Fired Again For Video
|
PUNTA GORDA, FL: A Punta Gorda Police Officer was fired after an explicit video, taped during Fantasy Fest in Key West six years ago, resurfaced. The same video got her fired from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in 2005, but this time she wasn’t fired because of the video. The Punta Gorda Police Department recently hired Wiseley, even though they knew she was fired as a Lee County deputy after the graphic video surfaced. They felt she deserved a second chance and we stand by that decision, said a police spokespeson. But rumors soon started to fly that on-duty officers were watching the video on a city computer. The Internal Affairs Investigation began after Officer Wiseley allegedly showed a fellow officer the pornographic video of herself in her police car while on duty behind the station. According to the report: the detective was shocked, but did not tell his superiors. The report states at least one officer admitted to watching the video while on duty. But police say Wiseley didn't lose her job over the video. She lost her job for talking about the investigation to fellow officers after she was repeatedly told not to. "The video played no part in her termination. Her termination was for violating department procedures," according to a departmrnt offical. Wiseley reportedly told investigators the video has ruined her life and insists the accusations are not true. In fact, no conclusive evidence was ever found to prove that Wiseley showed the video to anyone. Two police officers did receive a written reprimand over this investigation and one was suspended for three days. Wiseley was given the choice to resign. She declined and that's when the chief decided to let her go. |
