In Utah, a man is in jail, charged with aggravated sex abuse and awaiting deportation after he allegedly sexually abused a 3-year-old girl Saturday.

A mother left her 3-year-old daughter alone in a bathroom Saturday night at their home on the 200 West block of 200 North. She noticed the front door to her home was open but was not concerned because they were hosting a family party.

When the mother discovered that the bathroom door was shut and locked, she tried to get her daughter to unlock the door, Harding said. The door was finally unlocked and the mother looked in to see her daughter standing in the bathroom without any clothes on.

The mother then saw a man hiding behind the bathroom door and yelled for her husband. Her husband and others pulled the man from the bathroom and allegedly beat the suspect until police arrived, Harding said.

The girl reportedly told her mother that the suspect removed her clothes and touched her with his "privates," According to police.

Once police arrived at the scene, the suspect allegedly fought with an officer, Harding said. Once detained, the suspect was transported by ambulance to a nearby Medical Center.

The suspect was identified as Eugenio Tapia Vichi, 29 living in Utah. Police said he reportedly admitted to entering the house but denied the allegation of sexual abuse.

"He claimed he went into the house to use the bathroom but claimed he didn't see the (girl) in the bathroom or do anything to her," said police.

Vichi was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on charges of interference with an arresting officer, intoxication with the possibility of endangering others, burglary and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Vichi also reportedly admitted to the arresting officer that he was in the country illegally. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement later placed a deportation hold on the suspect, according to reports.
