Trial began yesterday for the former Memphis Deputy Monique Davis who murdered Memphis Officer Hayes, father and husband gang bang style. She's claiming it was self defense. It was more of a jealous rage from a woman scorned. He had taken out an order of protection just before he was murdered. In a bizarre twist, her son was also charged as an accomplice in the murder.

A Vanderburgh County Indiana Sheriff Deputy was arrested because he is alleged to have stalked and invaded the privacy of his former wife, apparently angry over the fact that she is dating and moving on with her life. It is good that of late, at least this police department has decided to take the matter seriously. They are to be commended.

In Police Officer related crimes among families, the suspect or in this case Ken DeKleine according to people who posted yesterday, is the last person anyone would suspect of murdering their own spouse. My point is that anyone is capable of committing a crime. What makes it worse is when it is an individual who has taken an oath to serve and protect believe that have the right to take the life of their own wife. Obviously, she was scared by going and securing a court order of protection. Why is it so difficult for those "close" to these families to believe they are not capable? An abuser is clever like a fox. They never allow anyone to really see who they are as a person. I remember when my parents died and those on the force were in denial making remarks like "it was not possible" or "he was a great cop and father" my favorite was "she drove him to this." That is why it is important for everone who is involved in an abusive relationship to have a safety plan. I have not seen much written on Lori, you remember, the woman who is no longer on this earth. Her children need each and every one in the community right now during this time. Not lip service defending a man, accused of murder, you obviously did not know.

When an order of protection is issued there is a hearing with evidence presented in front of a judge. All too often, so the officer remains on the force, charges will be reduced or just disappear. I have a question for the prosecutor on the case who obviously had enough evidence to secure th order of protection at the initial hearing. WHY? And are you willing to guarantee the victim's safety and well being?It has been eight months now, a number of law agencies still continue searching for police officer wife and missing 911 dispatcher Theresa Parker. So far, there have been no arrests in the case and no sign of Theresa but her family refuses to give up hope. And now with the light beaming on the Stacy Peterson case, perhaps more efforts and attention can be focused on Theresa Parker. Maybe the FBI can provide assistance in finding her as well.
This will be the first holidays for Parker's family without her. And they have noticed the eerie similarities to the Stacy Peterson case in Illinois.

Sadly, here we are, once again. An officers wife unable to receive assistance is murdered. A special division must be created to successfully deal and address abuse within Law Enforcement Families across the country. If the police unions such as the FOP were so concerned about their members they would welcome the opportunity to deal with the epidemic among the "Blue Brotherhood".

Pam Huber died yesterday in a South Dakota Hospital. Yes, she had an order of protection against her husband. He shot her in front of their child. As of this post he has not yet been charged for her murder. She had not place to turn when abusive episode's exploded in their home. Why? Because he was the Chief of Police. This pathetic tin badge coward murdered his wife like hunter after his prey.
