If no one else will come forward and say it, I will.  Therea Parker, 41, was a 911 Operator and she is also the wife of a police officer. In addtion, Theresa who has not been seen since 3/22/2007.  She spoke with a family member everyday. There is a history of domestic violence. They, the distraught officer and his wife are going through a divorce.  This adds up to trouble, at least in my opinion, anyway. All the signs are there.

Divorce and the Deadly Ending in Police Families

What does it say about us as a civilized society when we settle our disputes with violence?  The reality of murder suicides in this country is growing at an alarming rate.  This case goes beyond what neighbors picture as a  "quiet" and "normal" couple who recently divorced.  It is about power and control.  The neighbors said nothing was wrong, obviously a whole hell of a lot was wrong for this man to murder his wife.  I realize we can not go house by house or block by block to address or even begin to solve these crimes.  But, we can go back to a time when we really begin to know our community, the neighbors and their children.  Perhaps if someone had offered a helping hand, a word of kindness or just made this sad individual feel his life had meaning, it may have saved a life or two.

Firefighter Charged With Murder

..."This situation has become so unbearable and out of control that I do not know what to do," Otilia Burton wrote in court records filed as part of divorce proceedings, which she began in September... Burton returned to the couple's Cartilla Court home in February, despite his wife's objections. Her lawyer, said they went to court to try to kick him out, but the motion was denied by a judge... Otilia Burton once came in with a black eye, and Burton told one of Hartog's assistants that if the divorce proceedings were completed, he would kill Otilia, the lawyer said...
RANCHO CUCAMONGA - Colleagues of Michael Burton say the Pasadena firefighter was an outstanding individual, both personally and professionally. (they always say that after the fact)

Neighbors recall a family man who loved his children and would shuttle them to and from school.

But a more frightening picture is emerging after police stormed his home Sunday and found his wife, Otilia, dead with stab wounds and arrested Michael Burton, 45, on suspicion of murder.

"This situation has become so unbearable and out of control that I do not know what to do," Otilia Burton wrote in court records filed as part of divorce proceedings, which she began in September. The couple separated two months earlier and he moved out when she filed for divorce. The 35-year-old woman's full name was Jesus Otilia Burton, but neighbors say everyone called her by her middle name.

The San Bernardino County Coroner's Office is set to conduct an autopsy on her body. Burton was still in a hospital Monday night with self-inflicted stab wounds.

Otilia Burton had said her husband was controlling, manipulative and emotionally and verbally abusive to her and their children, records state.

But Burton denied the accusations and he and his sister, Pamela, portrayed a different woman in court documents.

They said that Otilia Burton was neglecting her three children - a daughter, 18, and two sons, one 12 and the other 9 - and left them alone frequently.

The two also accused Otilia Burton of allowing the children to find out about a relationship she was having with another man.

Otilia Burton admitted to the relationship but denied leaving her children alone, saying she had to work part time at Coco's Restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga while she completed nursing training. It was a career opportunity she said her husband at first encouraged, records state. She added that he was the one who told the children about the relationship.

Burton returned to the couple's Cartilla Court home in February, despite his wife's objections. Her lawyer, Diane Hartog, said they went to court to try to kick him out, but the motion was denied by a judge.

Otilia Burton once came in with a black eye, and Burton told one of Hartog's assistants that if the divorce proceedings were completed, he would kill Otilia, the lawyer said.

"We were all really worried about her," Hartog said. "I was afraid she was going to become a statistic."

While court records state that a sword and gun were taken from Burton in previous visits by police, Otilia Burton noted one chilling threat.

"He has threatened me and told me he has a samurai sword and that he was going to use the sword to chop up my boyfriend," she declared in the court records.

Neighbors knew about the couple's pending divorce, but no one knew how troubled the relationship was.

Carlos Llanos, who lives two houses away, said his son was good friends with the Burton's 9-year-old boy.

"I was pretty devastated about what was going on in his marriage," Llanos said. "He lost a lot of weight and was depressed" when divorce proceedings began.

A Reminder To All Of Us Life Is So Very Precious

Yesterday, a beautiful 8 year old child was murdered.  Had it been a slow news day across the country, you probably would have read about it or seen it on a national media network. Explaining how a man, who was her father murdered this precious gift of life.  Who knows, perhaps Lauren would have grown up to be a doctor or maybe a scientist discovering a cure for a fatal disease, we will never know.  And although she didn't receive national attention for being killed by her father, her death should have more importance to each of us as parents, grandparents, neighbors and teachers.  This could have been your neighbor next door.  A quiet family, that no one really knew.  A neighbor who played with your kids or sat next to them in school.  This is just a reminder to all of us that life is precious.  We can't predict if we will see the sunrise the next morning.  So in memory of Lauren lets all remember to give our kids a great big kiss and tell them how important they are each and every day.

Chicago Woman Marries Brandon Teena Killer

LINCOLN, Neb. A Chicago woman has been granted a marriage license to marry one of the killers portrayed in the movie "Boys Don't Cry."

Justine Mirth, 32, says she can't wait to marry Tom Nissen, who is serving life in prison for the 1993 slayings of three people in a farmhouse in southeast Nebraska.

"I'm dying to go see him. I want to hold him," she said. "He's the man I love. I want to spend the rest of my life with him."

The crime inspired the award-winning 1999 movie starring Hilary Swank, who played one of the victims, 21-year-old Teena Brandon, who was born a woman but lived as a man in southeast Nebraska under the name Brandon Teena.

The couple have never met in person. Mirth and Nissen have learned about each other through long letters and scores of 15-minute phone calls -- the maximum allowed by the prison.

When she saw the film, Mirth said, she identified with the characters who played Nissen and his co-defendant, John Lotter, who is on death row. She had grown up "in a small, stupid town in Indiana," she said, and escaped by running with a rough crowd.

"These were people I would hang out with in real life," she said.

Prosecutors said Teena was killed in a farmhouse, along with two witnesses, because he reported being raped by Lotter and another man after they discovered his biological identity.

I can hardly wait when sometime in the near future the blusing bride appears on Larry King Live to give her intimater details of "love behinf Bars".  YUK!
